I'm Isabella, and I live New York as a BFA student at Alvin Ailey. This blog will talk about the unique experience of dance major in college and living in, well, the greatest city on earth.
I started my BFA program in the fall and I just got home for the summer. The program was a amazing; full of ups and downs, but I learned so much along the ride. I already can't wait to get back! I'm missing the daily grind of rolling out of bed at 7AM and dragging my feet over to my Keurig for that sweet dose of caffeine before class.
Luckily, I'm going to be getting that dancing fix soon! I'm excited to return to my home studio over the summer to attend two of their intensives. The first one coming up is with Dance Theater of Harlem. I know so many talented dancers who came out of DTH (Alicia Graf Mack, for one...) and I can't wait to start dancing with them.
As for keeping busy over the summer, I've started returning to my vegan haunts (is that a thing? It's not). I'm returning to my old favorite recipes from my previous blog (TofuTalk) and thinking about how I can renovate them to fit a dancer's lifestyle. Hopefully, some new versions should be up soon!
